Lipsy, the cool and on-trend fashion high street brand for young women, has scored a bulls-eye with their latest collaboration.

They have just announced that Michelle Keegan, late of Coronation Street (in both senses), is going to be a brand ambassador for Lipsy. In addition, Michelle has been working with the Lipsy design team for some time, on an Autumn 2014 collection entitled "Lipsy Love Michelle Keegan."

This new collection will be launched online and be in their stores on July 3rd. Michelle has described the overall collection as being “classic, unfussy and feminine”, so it’s very much in keeping with her own personal style.

The Stockport-born actress has been in Corrie since 2008 playing fiery barmaid Tina Mc Intyre, The role didn’t often call for her to look glamorous and it seemed that poor ‘Tina’ only ever owned one pair of earrings – those huge hoops were constantly in evidence when she was on screen – rumour has it that they had to be surgically removed before she left the cobbles of Weatherfield last month.

In the role of Tina, she was often unlucky in love. Fortunately, in real life Michelle has found happiness with Mark Wright who came to fame via the reality show, The Only Way Is Essex. The couple have been engaged since September, 2013.

The link-up between Michelle and Lipsy is clearly a great move for both sides. Michelle, 26, has stated that she’s been a Lipsy fan for a long time, having worn their very glamorous and stylish pieces since her teenage years and saying that, “I always feel great when I wear Lipsy”. It’s an interesting next move for the hot young soap actress who won many awards over the years for her role as Tina.

For Lipsy, they have found a cool and very popular actress who fits their brand perfectly. Michelle enjoys a high profile via a huge following on Twitter (2.17 million), a romance with another celebrity and a much anticipated and dramatic exit from one of the nation’s most popular soaps where she played a much loved character.

Following this surprise announcement there will be great anticipation about the 30+ piece autumn collection and how well it will be received by the many Lipsy and Michelle fans. It is going to contain pieces with particular focus on the important times and events in a young woman’s life –going on dates, meeting friends and having the big weekend night out. The aim of the collection is to let the everyday girl, who may not have Michelle’s high visibility lifestyle, to never-the-less feel just as super feminine and sexy when she wears the clothes. Roll on July 3rd!
