Abbey Clancy's Matalan collection

Abbey Clancy Matalan

Matalan has announced that on June 4th Abbey Clancy’s second collection for the popular high street brand will be available online and in selected stores.

This follows on from her well-received previous AW 2013 collection. Abbey had designed the entire eight-piece summer dress range herself, focusing it on her own personal style for figure-hugging fashion.

The colour palette that she has used is very much based on her own preference for monochrome and neutrals but with some zesty citrus orange added for the spirit of summer. This striking dress collection features the SS 14 inspired scuba to create some extremely flattering sports luxe finishes to all the pieces.

Matalan have said that, “The eight piece dress collection includes fun minis with high neck detailing and illusion black panels around the middle creating the ultimate party dress. Flattering pencil skirt dress styles continue to be a must for the new Abbey collection with hero pieces featuring mesh shoulder detailing and figure hugging silhouettes with delicate spaghetti straps”.

The figure hugging dresses will certainly flatter the shapely female figure, like Abbey’s own. Abbey, when asked about the dresses, stated that “I am really excited about my new collection and cannot wait until it lands in store.” She added that she loves orange this season and that she “believed it worked perfectly across the smart pieces and the more flirty fun dresses.” Abbey has modelled all the collection herself. The dresses will sell typically at around the £40 mark.

Currently Abbey in on holiday in Dubai with her footballer husband, the very tall Peter Crouch, whom she married in June 2011. They have a daughter, Sophia Ruby who’s now three. Abbey shot to fame in 2006 when she participated in Living TV’s Britain’s Next Top Model and was runner-up, a ‘failure’ that did her blossoming career no harm at all. She obviously likes competitions as in late 2013 she won Series 11 of Strictly Come Dancing.

Her success continues with having very recently been voted the ‘Best Legs in Show Business’ in a survey organised by Veet, the depilatory cream brand, who asked women about their foot and leg preparation for summer. Abbey was voted third in the Best Feet section.

Until a falling out with Ultimo’s owner, Michelle Mone, after Abbey modelled for Veet and School in her underwear, she was the face (and body) of Ultimo. While the Ultimo modelling contract has been terminated “by mutual agreement” Abbey still has one last compaign with the brand that is soon to be released. Ms Clancy is now the face (and legs) of Veet.

Abbey Clancy, the Liverpool-born model, is very much in demand and this latest collection from Matalan is bound to be a great success. Let us know what you think of it.
